mandayen CARCASE COMPETITION SUCCESS CONTINUES
Mandayen Limousin has continued its’ outstanding run of wins in major carcase competitions in Southern Australia. At the 2011 Adelaide Royal Led Steer Competition with two entries we exhibited the Champion Heavy Domestic Steer on Hoof and our other steer won the Champion Heavy Domestic Carcase. This steer was a member of the winning O’Connor Trophy team. We also had great success at the Melbourne Royal winning Grand Champion Steer on Hoof with a three quarter Lim-Flex steer which was exhibited by Billabong High School. Two of the Champion Borthwick Trophy steers bred by Beckenham Limousins, Kyneton Vic. were sired by their senior herd sire Mandayen Guardian A488. All of these steers were sired by Mandayen bulls and we will be offering sons of these sires in our 2012 bull sale.

Exclusive Sires
HUNT MR JOCK
Exclusive rights on this sire are held in partnership with Birubi Limousins. MR JOCK is a polled, black sire who is breeding exceptionally well at Mandayen. An outcross sire that produces thick, easy doing cattle with great constitution and excellent dispositions. This sire epitomizes the easy fleshing, docile, modern type Limousin genetic package we are aiming to produce. His first sons sold in our 2010 Performance Sale were highly sought after, with his son Mandayen Mr Jock D1141 selling for the sale’s top price of $14,000. He also had the highest sire line average of the sale at $6036.
RUNL XTRA LOYAL 644X
Selected by us on a recent trip to the US searching for a new calving ease sire, XTRA LOYAL 644X is a homozygous polled, homozygous black herd sire with tremendous muscling, body capacity and impeccable structural soundness. He is a son of the performance king RUNL Stetson 850S out of a Cole Wulf Hunt granddaughter, we have used him in our 2011 heifer joining program and eagerly await his first calves.
MANDAYEN EVEREADY E1385
A black, polled son of our donor cow “Special’s Cookie Z344” with tremendous performance, docility and a sound, well-muscled body type. EVEREADY E1385 was used as a yearling and we will wean his first calves in the next few months, the bull is transmitting great muscle and growth. We look forward to seeing how his calves perform both here at Mandayen and in the Limousin Nucleus program where this bull is also being tested.
